The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
There are so many things a person can say to tear down another. All of us have had moments where we were disappointed at how someone treated us, or should I say, our perception of how we were treated. No one person is exempt. Someone will say some bad things that you will not like and vice versa. The truth of the matter is all words have power. If someone tries to bring you down with their words you can say a word to cause his or her words to not have power over you. If someone says that you are a looser; you have the power to say, “I Am a Winner”.
The same thing goes for our own words that we say on a day-to-day basis about ourselves. Being mindful of what we are saying in our minds about ourselves is very important. We have to know that the enemy would like for us to be defeated and it is not the person that’s saying the words, but the enemy behind the word that wants to tear you down. Ephesians 6:12 states “12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. The battle is not against the human race but against the rulers of darkness. Know that when you or someone else speaks, it is the enemy who has the power. Take your authority win this battle and speak life and encouraging words in every situation. The Words you Speak, have power over your life.
