If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are a new creation. He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that you can be free to live a free and joyous life. No matter how big or how small, your God still loves you; and His love never changes. The Bible says He’s the same yesterday and today and forevermore. (Hebrews13:8)
Sometimes we have people around us that will bring up our past. Wanting us to remember those things that we use to do. But what they don’t know is, we are not what we use to be. But thanks be unto God, we don’t have to live at that old address of pity and shame, guilt and pain. We can walk upright boldly knowing that we no longer serve the enemy, but we serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The one who heals, sets us free and delivers.
Get from around others who mean you no good. Who wants to keep you bound and send you back to your past. They may mean you no harm and have no idea that the enemy is using them to try and keep you bound. But if that’s not you any longer, you have to be strong and courageous.
The Bible tells us that, there was a time when Jesus told Peter that He would have to die, but Peter responded and said, “Never Lord!”, “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus said, “Get thee behind Me Satan”. You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Why did Jesus respond this way to Peter? Because Peter was a dangerous trap to Jesus. God had a plan for Him to accomplish something great on this earth. Just like He has a plan for us. Satan never wants us as Christians to do the will of the Father. Nor does he want us to be happy and free from bondage. Therefore, you will always have battles to fight. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood. But with the ruler of this world.” So when you go into battle, put on the whole armor of God and stand firm on which you believe. Know that there is Power in Jesus’ Name. Because we are now joint-heirs with Christ; we now have that same power. There is no name greater than Jesus and when we call on that name, Satan has to flee. Know that you are free and whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.
You now have a great future in front of you. God said in His word “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Walk with your head up knowing that your God loves you and because you are His child He will make sure that you are well taken care of on this earth and in heaven. Amen
